The reason I'm asking that is that I'm taught by my dealer to NOT believe dealers especially when they DON'T MAKE any scene logical sence... I realize that on a new car that new it's hard to justify problems as a normal occurrence but I'd love a reasonable ass answer to my questions... (i'm having a flashback to my dealer experience)... So my suggestion for you to go there physically and ask them to show you exactly how they ended up with this conclusion, and show you physical proof as in like the CAR or their GT1 with tripping out messages (actually all that proves is that some electronic component may be bad) - Don't take service writer's word to for it, they are managers they don't always have a technical understanding of the issue... TO REPAIR BMW YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND A LOT OF STUFF - no offense to any one but general population is just no that witty - I'm not saying I am, I'm still troubleshooting my DSP having mood swings but I'm not afraid to admit when something doesn't make scene - dealers are usually are not like that...

Well that's my 2 cents......
