Hi there folks-

I apologize for the repost. The first mistakenly wound up in the middle of a long thread elsewhere, fitting for a new member I suppose. . . .

I'm a new member here as of today (yay!). My dad has been a member here for a good while, as a long time owner of an E38, and he recommended that I come in here to gain some knowledge before I make a purchase. I am looking to buy my first real car and thanks to him I am looking seriously at purchasing a BMW. I found a 2007 550i with about 40,000 miles on it and wanted to know if there was anything that would help steer my decision on the car. Its an automatic with navigation, premium and sport packages and I wanted to get an opinion on what you think something like this is worth. It has a clear carfax - not sure how valid that is in the end. At least there is no obvious issues. Another key point is I'm in a position where I'll be putting a lot of miles on the car - on the order of perhaps 70,000 in a year. If y'all have thoughts I'm all ears.

And on a much smaller side note, how easy/costly is it to retrofit a ski bag into a car without the cold weather package?
