First thing is to get out your owner instruction manual and look up oil change. In the book you can read about the type of oil and weight specific recommended for a change. A pair of jack stands would be nice as well as the proper wrenches, jack, and oil filter wrench. An appropiate container is next to catch the old oil so you can dispose of this now toxic chemical properly. All of these things are necessary along with an understanding on safety not only for yourself but for the car and those around you. It may be better to have some one help you with the first time out or just go to one of the quick lube places to have the job done. Doing repairs are rewarding but can be expensive so read the book first because replacing the engine because you did not replace the oil is not cost effective. Good luck we are all pulling for you.
