Congrats on the vanos seals repair. Glad you received great performance improvements.

The problem you are now experiencing is something different from the vanos.

Make sure the CPS sensors are BMW OEM. Look for a BMW logo on the sensors. Aftermarket CPS sensors don't work.

You might have a vacuum leak. There are two common vacuum leaks.
The idle control valve air intake boot branch gets cracks in the outer elbow accordion valleys. Take this out and inspect it. Also take out and clean the idle control valve.
The crankcase vent valve and 4 associate hoses fail. You can test the valve by placing a freezer plastic storage bag on its side over the oil fill hole. If the bag gets significantly sucked in the hole the valve is failed. The hoses get cracks. These last 70-120k miles and usually fail by 80-90k miles.
