Subject: M-Par wheel crub rash repair DYI questions and recommendations

I have wanted to fix the curb scratches on my wheels for quite some time now, but have never been willing to cough up the cash. The scratches where on the wheel when I bought the car, I promise it wasn’t me.. Instead of getting someone to do the repair for about $100-125 per wheel I was thinking of doing the job myself. I am patient enough to tackle a job like that, but also want to make sure it will looks and matches good.

A while back someone posted the following DYI Instructions and I figured I could do this myself. I ordered the Wurth wheel paint and clear but now that I look at my M-pars closers noticed that the lip itself seems to be polished more so than painted. If you look at the Mpars closely it seems that only the inside of the spokes are painted with the standard euro wheel paint and the lip and face of the wheel it looks like it is polished with a coat of clear.

My concern is that if I use the Wurth paint on the outside of the rim won’t match to the actual polished look, or is only in the inside of the lip polished and outside is painted.. Am I seeing this wrong? Have any of you guys fixed their curb scratch themselves and have been able to match the polish look? Is their a technique I could use to get the polish look, or do I need to look at potentially using a different paint? Any suggestion of what others have done would be great. I will probably only paint the outer edge of the rim, so the Wurth paint might do the trick.

Here are few pictures of the wheel.. Notice the polished lip and painted inside of the spokes. Maybe the outer rim just looks polished from wear and cleaning the so much.

I know what you are thinking. Holly cow that wheels look bad. I know I am embarrassed to drive around with these.
