Subject: And the work keeps piling up!

I just finished replacing out the last of the bushings in the rear of the Volvo 240 (Winter Car) and yesterday I was able to finish replacing out the bushings for the control arm and tie-rod end. I've never had such a hard time working on cars as I have with this Volvo. The arms are designed to be a bear to use with a conventional shop press and I had to get extremely creative when replacing out these bushings. I ended up pressing out the center part of the bushing, then used my reciprocating saw with the metal blade to cut the bushing in half lengthwise and pull it out that way! It's finished, now for the driver's side and then new wheel bushings will go in next week. All new suspension bushings, shocks, struts, brake pads, rotors, tie rod ends, and wheel bearings in the front... I think I'm pretty much ready for winter other than installing the new heater motor and switch. My 5er needs new poly bushings in the thrust arms because the 750 upgrades were pathetic, they didn't even last me 15k and I think I'm going to be shifting towards poly on the rest of my bushing replacements in the future. Projects galore, and that's only my car stuff... I'm inundated with house projects to do over the winter and next spring... YIKES!

I'm thinking about yanking the seats out of the 5er to fix them over the winter, anybody have any good ideas as to leather dying?

-Eric
